I am Sabrina James, an ex-teacher and now friend of Daddy Alvin. It is such a privilege to be involved in this blogging programme which was recently initiated. I must say that the blogs uploaded for the February edition have been very well written and tremendously encouraging.

Children’s Garden Green House by Keneddy Juma, was such an inspiration. You explained the processes your team went through in successfully planting tomatoes which were harvested for internal consumption as well as for sale, so that the team could use the proceeds to buy seeds for future planting projects. Wow! This is the start of a business enterprise. Bravo for being brave entrepreneurs and forging ahead with future plans. I wish you all the best in future successes.

The blog ‘Children’s Garden Population Increases incredibly’ by Oyindo Paul Odour, is indeed a testament to the hard work of all the school leaders, teachers, sponsors and children themselves. The heartbeat of a school speaks volume to all around. The dedication, perseverance, commitment and love is palpable. I wish the school community decades of growth and pray that your heart beat will grow stronger with the passage of time and your message of love and commitment will be a beacon to the nation.

I was also impressed by Kevin Njuguna’s blog on ‘Lego Robotics in Children’s Garden Home. The Robotics team has done very well considering that this is a relatively new club. Your success is testament to Mum Kathleen’s dedication and the team’s considerable effort. I want to encourage you to continue to persevere. I remember in a particular primary (elementary) school I was leading, my team won the national competition and was awarded a trip to Disneyland in California. Strive to reach the stars dear children, YOU are a rainbow of possibilities.

The blog ‘Construction of classes for special needs students” by Hope Diana is a wonderful article because it spells just how special CGH is. Daddy Moses’s vision of inclusivity is evident in this construction. To open our arms and embrace children with special needs is the epitome of care and love. It encapsulates what the school is all about and I applaud the school leaders and community for being visionary. I have faith that this project will be completed because it is a work of the heart. Kudos to all who are part of this meaningful endeavour.

Last but not least, the blog on ‘The construction of perimeter wall’ by Macreen Achieng and Victoria Khalahi is a heart-warming piece that showcases the importance of safety for the children. It is so good to know that it is almost completed and that this abodes well for the security of the children as well as the school community.

So you can see that the blogs are all very special. To pick one to be named the best blog for February was almost an impossible task. However, since I had to make a choice, I picked the blog that meant most to me which is ‘Construction of classes for special needs students” by Hope Diana. I have always believed that we need to be inclusive. We need to embrace differences and thank God for making each of us special because we are unique and different.

Once again, thank you for this privilege to be the judge for February. I wish CGH all the best and may God bless each and every one of you for touching lives and making a difference.
