Schools resumed on 24th January 2023 after a two-month break. Both primary and secondary opened and immediately started the opener exam. The opener exams took a few days and learning resumed as usual while the teachers and students were waiting for form ones to be admitted. Admission to form one started on 6th February 2023 and not only them but also CBC students who were admitted on 16th February. The void of the junior students in the school was filled when CBC junior high school students arrived and form ones 8-4-4 system students arrived.
When the CBC students arrived, their uniforms were not ready since the tailor had not yet made them and she had not yet received money for them, but as time went by, new school uniform colors started being seen in the school and immediately we knew it was the CBC uniform. The home students’ uniform was funded by the garden home organization while those who were paying school fees bought their own CBC uniform.
The home garden organization wishes to get more funds to buy more home students’ uniforms. The results for the opener exams were released for all the classes excluding the form ones since they did not do the opener exams. The disappointment on the teachers’ faces was foreseen by the students since they knew they had performed poorly. Also, the teachers foresaw the results since students had been home for two months on a break and the teachers knew their brains had formatted everything. The teachers decided that they would give students the benefit of the doubt and that they would improve in the next examination. After exams learning progressed as usual and on the 8th-week midterm exams were done people went for a midterm break on the 16th of March and came back on the 20th for boarders and 21st for day scholars . Up on coming back, new Chinese visitors were seen in the school. The Chinese visitors came to volunteer and among the volunteering, they offered to teach the CBC students Chinese songs and poems and how to paint. CBC from the look on their faces, looked happy being taught and learning a foreign language. Pupils and students await the release of midterm exams and the start of end-term exams.
High school students say that they have noticed a significant change in their grades on the midterm exams in comparison to the opener exams.
