It was a chilly Sunday morning whereby almost all of the form four students woke up filled with smile on their faces following the previous news that they had heard from Daddy Moses that they were to visit Mt. Longonot which was located in Naivasha. After a long-time investigation we found out that the person who had sponsored our trip was non other than our respected guest Sir Alvin.
On our way to Naivasha we were able to view different types of wild animals’ example Zebra and Gazelle That were not that much far from where we were, our girls on the other side were enjoying their ride but as we all know pretenders are worse than murderers, the girls were pretending to be reading a certain set book by the name “TUMBO LISILOSHIBA” so that they can be seen that they are readers but instead they were doing it to make the Mum Silvia and the driver happy
Thanks to geographers who were with us that day whom educated us more about the great rift valley and the mist that we saw as we were heading to Naivasha. At first when we saw the great riftvalley.
I looked around and saw most of the people widely opening their eyes as if they had seen something new, this was because most of the time they had been studying it on their book but have never gotten a chance to view it.
Soon we reached the place where we had long desired to reach. On arriving the destination, we first entered the new toilets after a long time because it was change of environment toilet, we also took some photos for remembrance in case if it was going to be our last trip after staying for a long time without travelling. Soon Sir Alvin who was hosting the trip together with Daddy Moses arrived. Then we were instructed to carry water with us to the mountain but not from local plastics, but since most of us carried local plastics filled with water it forced sir Alvin and Daddy Moses to purchase new bottle that were legal in that place.
Without wasting a single minute, we registered and took some few photos with Sir Alvin and Daddy Moses and went on to climb up the mountain. Sir Alvin was very happy that the journey was going to be enjoyable climbing up the mountain. As some groups rushed to finish up climbing the mountain such as the group that had Stella Kerubo, Derrick and Robin while Sir Alvin’s group were not in a hurry mood of finishing faster as they were going slowly taking photos and enjoying the adventure.
As they were busy taking photos since they were the last group, the first group were half way almost reaching the peak which was 2870metres above the ground. As we continued going round the crater of the mountain, we saw some part of the mountain which was seen to have burnt due to an eruption of volcano few days from then. On finishing going round the crater of the mountain they found out that it was 7.2km going round the crater of the mountain.
But it seems that most of the people mostly female gender did not manage to complete the journey of going round the crater. But the mountain climbers as they were referred ourselves since we were the first group to begin climbing down the mountain, the first group that managed to finish, the first one was that of Stella Kerubo, Catherine Muthoni, Derrick and Robin.
On finishing Stella Kerubo was very tired and restless, her colleges Derrick, Catherine and Robin congratulated her for being the first girl to climb down the mountain and the effort that she put. The second group as they were approaching the finish line was walking like falling trees that had lacked support due to soil erosion. Later Daddy Moses arrived feeling tired and sweating as if He was sprinkling water on his body and then rested as if his journey would be compared to that person who has come from Singapore on foot.
As people were relaxing and enjoying eating bread and honey from a long tiresome journey of climbing up and down the mountain, suddenly Sir Alvin and His group that comprised Argwings, Evans and Alvin himself were walking as if they had lost hope in life and that they had used all their last energy on their body. Everybody had history and recorded about the tiresome journey at the mountain.
Thanks for Sir Alvin and Daddy Moses for organizing such a wonderful and enjoyable trip for the Form four students. May the almighty God bless you
