On the 23rd of December 2022, the kids from the Children’s Garden home were expecting an important guest from the state house. Prior knowledge of the visitor was that it was the former president’s advisor who would be visiting us. Little did we know that she would also be coming with her former employer, former president Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta to visit. 

We did a thorough cleaning of the compound as it is our norm to always put cleanliness first. At around 5:00 pm we had arranged the dining hall since the expected visitor had arrived. We went down to the parking lot to welcome our guest of honor. 

To our shock and surprise, we saw the face of Mr.Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta alighting his car. We welcomed him with Pomp and happiness on our faces. We shouted and screamed with joy.

We then ushered Mr.Uhuru Kenyatta to the dining hall. 

He was entertained by the fiestas, a group of students that entertain visitors in our school, with a poem on admiring to be great people in the future, he also was entertained by the school choir.

 The former president gave a talk on the importance of sharing on Christmas and went on to say how important studying hard and smart is to an individual. He said that he saw future leaders and great people in us. The former president made us promise him that we would study hard and become meaningful people in society. 

 The cake-cutting session and presentation of gifts to children by his Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta followed. Then we took photos with the former president, mum Sylvia, the director’s wife who has been a mother to us in the children’s garden, and the children. Indeed it was a fabulous day.
