Hello everyone,I am one of the Chat Club mentors in the UK – based in Scotland. Natalie asked me to join the “team” just over 2 years ago and it has been good fun! There were 4 blog entries for May, which I enjoyed reading. Angella wrote about a visit to the 7th August Memorial Park and included a lovely photograph of some of the group learning about the Park and why it was created. There was lots of very interesting detail about the sad events – it is important to remember these terrible acts so we can make sure they are not repeated.Ann shared her experience of joining Chat Club and how it has helped her in several ways.Duncan’s article demonstrates so clearly how a life can be completely transformed through the help we can receive from others and by our own determination to learn and succeed in life. Duncan – you have certainly experienced some amazing highs and lows through your experiences and it’s fantastic to hear how well you are doing.Alice has also shared with us her experiences in Chat Club and how much she enjoys her time with the pupils at Canford School and the many ways it has helped her to develop her skills and her confidence.it wasn’t easy to pick the winner! And that winner is Ann Wambui – for the enthusiastic way she has applied herself to Chat Club and how she can recognise that chatting with others in this fun way has helped to boost her confidence in communicating with others. This is not just by improving her spoken English – Ann feels it has given her more courage to speak out and by exchanging ideas and experiences, she feels she has learnt much more about other cultures and is able to share ideas more confidently. The photo of you and your friends is lovely – you all look so smart in your uniforms.Congratulations, Ann – I look forward to reading more of your blog articles!
